A Norfolk woman suffered minor injuries after being abducted and assaulted on the weekend.The woman was driving a vehicle in the Port Dover area late Saturday night when she was abducted by a male hiding on the rear seat of the vehicle. Norfolk OPP say the woman was directed to drive to an area in Norfolk County where she was physically assaulted. She then told her parents who contacted police.The incident occurred at just before 10 p.m.Officers patrolling the area arrived on scene however the individual was not located. The suspect was described as wearing a dark coloured jacket with ’25’ written in white on the shoulder.If anyone recognizes the jacket that was described to police, they are being asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.Traffic enforcement results in chargesA 17-year-old male has been charged with driving while under suspension and fail to display two plates.On April 19 at about 9:24 a.m., a Norfolk OPP officer was conducting patrols in the area of Highway 59 and 2nd Concession Road in South Walsingham when a vehicle attracted the officer’s attention.The driver, a resident of Lake of Bays Township, is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe at a later date.Suspected shoplifter facing chargesA 58-year-old man has been charged with theft under $5,000 after an incident at Real Canadian Superstore in Simcoe.Police were contacted on April 20 around 2:10 p.m. with complaints of a theft.The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.Mischief to vehicleIn the early hours of April 20, vandals used a sharp object to damage the paint on a vehicle that was parked on a property on McDowell Road East in Charlotteville.Police were contacted about the mischief report around 7:58 a.m.The OPP are continuing to investigate and are seeking the public’s assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information, they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.Female facing chargesA 48-year-old female has been charged after police received a report of a possible impaired driver on Head Street North in Simcoe.Officers patrolling the area on Friday arrived on scene and located the female. While the officers were conducting an investigation, the woman allegedly assaulted a male and was taken into custody without incident.The Norfolk County woman was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, failure of refusal to comply with demand, assault, and fail to comply with probation order.Vehicle impounded for 45 daysA driver has been charged with operation while prohibited and driver-fail to properly wear seatbelt.On April 20, around 9:41 p.m., an officer was conducting patrols in the area of Church Street West and James Street in Delhi when a vehicle attracted the officer’s attention. The vehicle was stopped and investigated.The driver, a 68-year-old Norfolk man, is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe at a later date.
