Brock University is saddened by the death of Vladislav (Victor) Tomovich.Tomovich taught sociology at Brock for 30 years and was a visiting professor at many universities around the world.Tomovich died Aug. 1 after a lengthy illness. He will be remembered for his passion for life, his energy, his story telling, his love of travel and his award-winning photography.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Brock’s Department of Sociology.
It comes just days after he was released from Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where he underwent an operation to correct the damage done two years earlier at a different hospital.He was photograph leaving the hospital with his knee heavily bandaged on Tuesday.He will spend the next six weeks in a wheelchair, and doctors have reportedly told him there is a danger his knee will one day collapse, leaving him crippled.
